Welcome To The Wine Country Rock Crawlers

The Wine Country Rock Crawlers is a 4X4 club made up of a small group of rock crawling four wheelers who want to have fun and contribute to the improvement of off-road activities. We enjoy getting together, whether it be for a fun potluck dinner meeting, or a three-day run over the Rubicon. We're also here to help out on four wheeling conservation projects with our local land agencies.

Presidents Message January 2010

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Welcome to two thousand ten or twenty ten.  Either way we have closed the books on 2009 and are off to a brand new start.  I’d like to thank the 2009 officers and board of directors for the hard work done for our organization. And also to any of the members that volunteered time, goods or services for the betterment of the Club.  It is this participation and sharing of responsibilities that makes our Club great.

I am really looking forward to serving as the President of the Wine
Country Rock Crawlers this year.  We have a great bunch of people that were elected to work with me serving the Club.  My intention is to treat this post much like we treat the open lands that we wheel on and “leave it in a better condition than you found it”.  With the backing and participation of our membership I’m confident I can do just that!

The calendar for 2010 is already full of activities and we haven’t even got started yet!  As I type this message we have members blasting around in the snow on the New Years Day run.  In a couple of weeks Cal 4 Wheel will be having Winter Fun Fest.  I hope to be able to schedule our annual safety clinic in February so that all our rigs will be ready for our annual Hollister Hills run on March 5-7.  In addition to the regularly scheduled runs that have become common I’d like to challenge everyone to come up with something different.  Dream up something that YOU would like to do and throw it out there.  Chances are many of the other members would like the same type of thing.  Maybe piggy backing a run with our sister club 4x4 In Motion or a High Lakes Run or participation in a local car show as a club or ???

I am also interested in giving back a little more in 2010.  We already do a toy run but we will need to define a city to support.  Maybe we could schedule another volunteer effort at the food bank, or a day of labor supporting Habitat for Humanity.  The past year has been tough on many  people and in many different ways.  Join me in looking forward to a brighter and more prosperous new year with more fun and good times with the Wine Country Rock Crawlers.
